802.11b Network Debugging on the Cheap
If you have a Handspring Visor device, there's a really good deal right now from Intel. They've just reduced the retail price of the Xircom Springport 802.11b wireless networking adapter from $300 to $100. This was a very well received device for doing local wireless from a Visor, and I just ordered one for my Visor Prism, since I have 802.11b access at home and work.
One big advantage of this card is that you can do wireless networking while also having a debug connection to the device over serial or USB. This means you can step through your nasty NetLib code on a real device, rather than try to get things working through the emulator which uses the host's TCP/IP stack rather than the emulated device's.
I ordered mine from CDW to avoid sales tax, but they are also available from the Shop Intel site. If you don't have a Visor, I recommend getting a Visor Prism, which can be still be found online for around $180-220. This is my primary development device.
