MacHack 2002: Night 2
My presentation on all things Palm OS will be today at 1PM in the main room. I've got a bunch of topics to talk about, no marketing slides, and enthusiasm, so if you're here at the conference, be sure to come and watch.
First Night
I'm just survived the second night of MacHack 2002 (my first actual night here). Last evening's 9PM keynote was Rob Malda, creator of Slashdot, the granddaddy of Linux-loving weblogs. His talk was entertaining, but very scattered (and smothered, and covered, and topped, and chunked...).
I spent the rest of the evening preparing a submission for the MobileWizardry demo contest. My first entry, for the under 1K competition, is called HandMatrix, and it implements a Matrix-style display (with the green scrolling letters) on Palm OS. In submitting this, I relinquish my ability to judge submissions, but that's OK... competing is far more fun than judging.
Wizard Bug with SDK 5
I've just learned of a problem with the application wizard in CW for Palm OS V8 and the new Palm OS 5 SDK. It looks like changes in UIResDefs.r prevent the wizard from building valid resources with the new SDK. I'm looking into this, and will post a fix here ASAP.
