5.0 SDK PostLinker Install Issue

If you're using CodeWarrior for Palm OS on Windows, and you've installed the Palm OS 5.0 SDK that was recently posted, you might have a bad installation of the PalmRez post-linker.

(Update: 18 June 2002) The installer looks to be OK, this is only an issue with the manual install ZIP file, not the installer program.

The ZIP file expands to a tree that puts the new PalmRezPostLinker.dll file for SDK 5 into a "Plugins/Linkers" folder. However, the original version of this file lives in "plugins/Linker". Having two identical DLLs in the CW plugins tree confuses the IDE, and it may only load the earlier DLL, causing build problems if you use new high-density bitmap families.

The fix is easy. Just move the PalmRezPostLinker.dll file from "Linkers" to "Linker", then get rid of the "Linkers" folder. This problem has been communicated to PalmSource, and I hope they update their installer to fix this soon.

New Bug Fixes Feature

I've added a new link to the navigation bar on the left side of the screen. This link, Bug Fixes, will take you to a page that gives you information on the current versions of CodeWarrior for Palm OS, plus links to any unofficial fixes that I've posted here since the last real Metrowerks-sanctioned patch.
