PalmSource 2002: A Quick Review
Lots of raw text here to digest, but here were the highlights of the show:
- Talking to lots of really bright developers
- Seeing Palm OS running on five different ARM boards
- The drum machine hack contest winner
- Tick Tock, the Myst-like game shown in Michael Mace's keynote, with hi-res graphics and sound all streamed off a memory stick
- Being trounced 7-0 by Roger Flores at air hockey
- Nerf bombardment of the AppForge blimp
- Discovering that the native call documentation for the Simulator had left out the much-needed NUL character
- Carrying around three Palm OS devices and feeling inadequate
- Almost falling asleep during the IMAX film "Destiny in Space"
- Seeing Sonic the Hedgehog and the CodeWarrior IDE highlighted in the Sega announcement demo
