New DotDotTwo Makes Debugging Easier
In PalmSource's recent developer newsletter, they had a note about a new version of the utility DotDotTwo 2.1, now available in the PalmSource knowledge base. DotDotTwo started out as a small application developed by Eric Cloninger, former CodeWarrior for Palm OS product manager at Metrowerks. It migrated into the Palm OS SDK for a few releases, before going AWOL with SDK 5, but I made sure it was still included in the Metrowerks Examples folder, since it is so useful. Now, PalmSource has produced a rewritten and updated version of this utility. The big update in this version is a feature that lets your device automatically enter console mode on startup which is really useful if you're doing a bunch of debugging and don't want to have to rerun the app after each reset. The utility comes with full source, so you can see what's involved in handling reset notifications.
