New PalmSource documentation!
PalmSource has quietly updated their documentation files available from their developer documentation site. If you look, you'll see a lot of documents dated in November and December 2002. These are all fresher than their versions included in Palm OS SDK 5 and in CodeWarrior for Palm OS V9.
I just started looking through the new SDK reference. The first thing I noticed is a new section at the end of Appendix B talking about Graffiti 2, PalmSource's new JOT-based handwriting recognition system. This describes how to detect that Graffiti 2 is on your device using a feature code and what API calls are obsolete on device that lack the original Graffiti.
9.1 patch posted
We put up the 9.1 update to CodeWarrior for Palm OS on Wednesday. This isn't the big uber-patch I'm working on now, but instead a tactical update to fix two problems. The first was the Palm OS API Reference HTML help file; the one we shipped with V9 was in bad shape, missing pages in the table of contents and having really ugly hyperlinks. This is all fixed now. The second was PilRC Designer. We've updated it to version 2.0.6, which should fix the PD crashing problem a lot of people have had. There will be more updates to this tool in the 9.2 patch, but this should fix the major problems people have been having.
