I recently got a nice email from a Chinese developer, asking me to note the website of a Chinese-language message board for developers.

http://www.msale.net/bbs/nboard.asp?ntypeid=8

I read a bit of the board using the Babelfish translator, and it looks like China may be the new hotspot for Palm OS development. I saw a question there about using PilRC Designer (included in CW for Palm OS V9) for Chinese language. While the PilRC compiler supports several encodings of Chinese, the PilRC Designer that we ship with the Western version of CW doesn't support Chinese characters. The version in the Japanese version of V9 supports Japanese text, but there was no intentional support for Chinese there. However, V9 can be used with Chinese text using Constructor and the Mac OS 68K linker, and that applies to any version.
