April 1st Press Release
I just got the text for this press release this morning. Looks like a *VERY* interesting product.
Metrowerks Introduces First Palm OS®-hosted Tools for Mac OS X
AUSTIN, Texas - April 1, 2003 - Metrowerks innovates in the wireless development space with the first toolset letting developers write, build, and test desktop applications on Palm Powered devices.
Available April 1, 2003, CodeWarrior Compact Development Studio, Version 1.0, includes support for Apple's Mac OS X operating system, and the C, C++, and Objective C programming languages, and provides the first modular integrated development environment (IDE) to run as a native application on Palm OS.
"This new tool finally lets me write great software for Apple's desktop computers in an environment that is comfortable and portable," said Steve Jobs, CEO of a California-based supplier of distorted reality. "The support for PPC simulation on the 68K-based Palm OS platform is revolutionary, and I'm amazed that I'm actually able to run Apple's operating system faster on my Palm m130 than I can on my G4-based Powerbook."
The toolset includes Mac OS X 10.2 Simulation Edition, an integrated code editor and project build system, cross-compilers for the PowerPC architecture, and a special USB converter allowing you to connect a one-button mouse to your Palm Powered device for testing purposes.
