Hi! I'm Ben Combee, former technical lead at Metrowerks on the CodeWarrior for Palm OS Platform product line. I'm also a frequent contributor to the Palm OS developer forums, both those hosted by news://news.superwaba.net and news://news.palmos.com.
This site is no longer live -- it was maintained from Fall 2001 through Winter 2004. This is a mirror of the site maintained by Ben Combee. Future posts will appear on http://palmos.combee.net/.
I setup this weblog as a place for me to post information related to Palm OS software development, along with copies of postings I make that I think will be useful. I will also provide information about new CodeWarrior developments, although nothing that violates any non-disclosure agreements.
Another site of mine, run with my friend Charlie Patisaul, is http://palmos.techwood.org/. This is a distribution site for Palm OS software that we have written.
I also am co-author and technical editor of Palm OS Web Application Developer's Guide, a book about wireless programming on Palm OS devices. It focuses on web clipping, as used on the Palm VII and the Mobile Internet Kit. It also has a long chapter on using INetLib in C and C++ software, though that was written by one of the other authors. I wrote the chapters on session management and integrating web clippings with other Palm OS programs. You can order my book from Amazon.com or other web bookstores or buy it directly from the publisher, Syngress.
If you have questions about the site, you can mail me at combee@techwood.org. However, I do not answer questions mailed to me asking for help in programming for Palm OS. I only answer questions in the online forums, so post there and wait for an answer.
